Artist's Comments

Commission's artwork : Illumination in gothic international style , making for a present to a birthday. The idea of the composition was that the husband was submariner in french navy and I had to incorporate this fact on the project but the problem was I couldn't create any anachronism , so I remember the illumination of the story of Alexander the Great , which explored the deep of the Red Sea , enclosed on a big glass barrel : [link] . This representation was the ancestor of a submarine ! ;)

The text on gothic cursive was a poem composed by the wife with the letters of the name Daniel and was calligraphied by

Awesome dynamic shadows and radiating colours. Very interesssting to combine a poem with a picture, the outcome of both is a story. Cool that you paste the zodiac signs of the both persons. Soft and elastic ornaments. Just like it! :clap::clap::clap:

OMGOODNESS! I have never seen such incredible detaild gothic work. Rarely something I find on DA. This work feels and looks extremly old. I just cant stop looks at the Ornated ... Everything! The way you set it up impresses me. WOW!
